Dana jóvoltából rengeteg futó ismeretséget kötöttünk. Találkoztunk egy ohio-i vadásszal akinek díjnyertes német vizslája van és a Kossuth utcában lakik. A Kossuth utcában, Ohioban!!! Élvezettel nézegette, fogdosta vásárolta a kellékeket. Erre eddig nem volt példa! Most láttam csak, hogy a vér....naugye.
Amíg mi inspirációt gyűjtöttünk, megérkezett az első cseh azaz PRÁGAI rendelésünk! Köszönjük! Mi jöttünk, csomag megy! :-)
Szokásomhoz híven megosztom veletek a kedvenc helyeink listáját, hátha hasznos lehet! A helyi specialitások kipróbálásához az u tri ruzit választottuk.Nagyon nem bántuk meg! Ha arra jártok feltétlenül kóstoljátok meg a: "a pound of roasted pork ribs in dark beer served with spicy sauce and dark bread"-et és a "roasted knuckle of pork with pickled vegetables, horseradish and coarse-grain mustard"-ot! A másik kedvencünk helyünk ennek pont az ellentéte: a Maitreia. Semmi cseh hagyomány, abszolut vega életérzés! Itt a "Quesadilla with goat cheese, baked pepper served with cranberries, lettuce and toasted foccacia with herb butter" és a "Quesadilla with tomatoes, fresh spinach, olives, feta cheese, rice, guacamole, tomato salsa and sour cream" vettek le a lábunkról. Továbbra is a legkedvencebb helyünk Bakeshop. Ajánlom kipróbálásra a Waldorf salátás croissant, a sült paprikás, kecskesajtos szendvicset és nem utolsó sorban a férjem kedvencét a roastbeef szendvicset lilahagymával. Ja és mindenhol szeretettel látják a kutyákat! A hotel Arcibaldban is ! (nem véletlenül választottuk!:-)
It was a classic Monday when we came to Prague. We were irritable and tired, which is not exactly an ideal start for a holiday. It’s good to travel by car, because you have time on the road to contemplate on where you started and where you're going, and the pictures rolling in the window like a movie wash through your thoughts. I guess the rest of my family is the same way, because by the time we rolled in to the island of Kampa there was nothing wrong. We parked the car and for four days, we walked and filled up with lights, scents, tastes. It wasn’t our first time here, so we set the obligatory sights aside with no worries. Now we just walked around, ate, drank, and mixed with the locals. It’s good to exist here, it’s a very livable town. The people are friendly and calm. Amazing: there was a piano on the grass at Kampa park. Sometimes people coming and going played it while we were walking our dogs. These are exactly the kind of spontaneous, ingenious details for which we love this town. They haven’t forgotten how to live and play here. This experience was more important for us than to check off the locations suggested in the guidebook.
Thanks to Dana we made lots of passing acquaintances. We met a hunter from Ohio who has a prize-winning German Vizsla and lives in Kossuth street. In Kossuth street, in Ohio!!! :-D Complete tourist groups were in awe of Dana, and they took photos of her instead of the sights. Sometimes it was hard to share their enthusiasm, since Dana got to know the depths of the science of walking on a leash here. We closed teaching with questionable results and hurting arms… but we didn’t regret that she came with us! Aside from the above, it is undeniably thanks to her that on the occasion of an obligatory dawn „trip”, my husband enjoyed the privilege of walking over the Charles Bridge completely alone. There wasn’t one soul there aside from him. How many moments like this are there in life? And Janka… well she was present unnoticed in our lives as an accomplished traveler, she took the challenges with ease, which makes it hurt even more that Emma couldn’t have such a nice old age. There is a photo that I repeat from year to year in front of the Bakeshop, and now Dana’s head seemed strangely alien instead of Emma’s profile. I really got off track… so there were other cool things, like Bojka being totally entranced by the supply of an art store. She looked at, touched and bought the supplies with enjoyment. This was unprecedented! I only just now saw that blood… there you are.
While we were gathering inspiration, we recieved our first order from the Czech Republic, that is from PRAGUE! Thank you! We came, the package is going! :-)
True to my habit I will share the list of our favorite places with you, it might be useful! For trying the local specialties, we chose u tri ruzi. We didn’t regret it at all! If you are there, be sure to taste : "a pound of roasted pork ribs in dark beer served with spicy sauce and dark bread" and "roasted knuckle of pork with pickled vegetables, horseradish and coarse-grain mustard"! Our other favorite place is exactly the opposite: the Maitreia. No Czechish traditions, totally vegetarian feeling! "Quesadilla with goat cheese, baked pepper served with cranberries, lettuce and toasted foccacia with herb butter" and "Quesadilla with tomatoes, fresh spinach, olives, feta cheese, rice, guacamole, tomato salsa and sour cream" swept us off our feet here. Bakeshop is still our most favorite place. I suggest to try the Waldorf salad croissant, the baked paprika and goat cheese sandwich and last but not least my husband’s favorite, roastbeef sandwich with red onion. Oh and they welcomed our dogs with love everywhere! Even in hotel Arcibald! (it’s no coincidence that we chose it! :-) )
